View Full Version : General Did you have Bluetooth installed by Hector's Car Audio Tech in Pomona, CA?

I found this video over the weekend from our friend DeLorean Tech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib-epk_iFoc. It shows a Bluetooth module installation in a Craig radio. I just called Hector's to get some more details about the installation. They interrupt the radio signal internally so that your phone can stream audio when the radio is on and tuned to any station. It appears to just seamlessly switch over and I imagine if the music on the phone were paused, the radio tuner would kick back in.

I have one real specific question about the installation and the person I was speaking to at Hector's couldn't recall this detail. I'm interested to know if every time I start my car, are there a bunch of status beeps or a voice saying "bluetooth connected" or any of that nonsense? It's a minor detail to most, but something that would drive me nuts.

Currently, I have a Kenwood amp wired between the radio and the speakers that has Bluetooth. My phone seamlessly (and without any audible notifications) connects to the amp and I can play music through the speakers without turning the radio on. The only drawback is that I have to fumble for my phone to control the volume with its buttons and I'd really prefer to be able to use the ASI's volume knob.

Hector's said that they've done a couple DeLorean radios, so if you've had yours done there, please send me a message or reply to this thread. Thanks a bunch.
