You are referring to the ones DMCH offered for a while? That offering seems to be cloaked in mystery.

I think they only made a couple of prototype sets. They didn't exactly look like the factory wheels, so I don't know how much interest there was at the time.

A while back someone also made some CAD models of larger wheels... I think they were 16 front and 17 rear possibly? Those were more true to the original wheel design, but I don't think anything beyond the CAD rendering was created.

Either way, they came from Europe and looked more like the stock wheels than the DMCH deep dish 3 piece sets. Like DMCH's very limited run, I think there were only 3 or so sets of these made. I believe they are sill on the car that is now owned by one of Cliff's sons.

I could not find info on them via searching. Not sure if the search feature sucks or if it was back in the dot com days of DMCTalk. His old site (http://www.delorean.co.uk) is no good as it points to DMCH. You could PM him (DCUK Martin) and ask. Looks like he was last on back in Oct 2022.

Yeah those look way better that the run dmch did. They match the car, but the colors off a bit but thats easy to fix with powdercoat. All aluminum bare doesnt match the stainless imo so looks cheesy. personally i went with a clear coat that looks good, had a local shop thats excellent do it for both my D and my esprit

I like the concept here but it's too bad there aren't any good full-side shots from a distance. They seem a bit too big for my taste. If they are 17/18 I would rather see 16/17.

They look totally awesome! And a whole new amount of tire would be available in these sizes! The car would looks stunning and more sporty, I feel.

Hey all. These wheels were made by Image Wheels in the UK. They're a split rim with one of their standard rims bolted to the back of the custom casting. They are 17/18 and if memory serves an extra inch wider front and rear (without issue I hasten to add). The tooling was paid for by an Australian bloke as part of his custom build. Cliff had the only other set.

In my opinion 16/17 would work better because the tyres especially at the front look sprayed on. Also the extra width should have gone into a deeper dish. Instead the wheel nuts are recessed really deeply and it doesn't look right.

I miss the stock style wheels, and given the opportunity would be interested in designing and manufacturing a upsized set. I have seen the wheels on the 2JZ car in person and they look spot on to the originals, just several sizes larger. A little too large but that is a matter of opinion. I do also have some reservations towards multi piece wheels, if not done correctly they can chronically leak.

I am currently running 16x7F and 17x9R. I would go a little wider in the front but tire sizes are limiting. I strongly believe these diameters suit the car well. 45 series tires still give a decent amount of sidewall.

Nice work on the CAD model Josh. I bet there are low volume wheel manufacturers that could build upsized wheels and keep the costs from getting too crazy. Not sure if DMCMW would consider getting into the market since the demand is unknown.

It would be something unique to offer with engine swaps, big brake kits, or to people who just want to run a modern wheel and tire size to expand tire options.

I would go for the 16 and 17 inch wheels. I think a price of $2000 for the set would keep me interested.

I am currently running stock rear wheels in the front with 205/50R-15 tires and I am super happy with the look and handling. As far as the rear is concerned, if you Josh, make the move to design an updated stock rear wheel I would be first in line to purchase once the width and offset is nailed down. I think 17" is ideal (but I am a little uncertain if a 15/17 front/back stagger would look odd...?)

You left us with a cliff hanger when you showed us the D wheel in CAD with editable diameter/width... Do you have aspiration to, if not produce, but maybe design an updated wheel with a D stock look? I am mostly interested in an updated set of rear wheels

No idea about Josh with his recent job change, but the DMCH SEMA car had a nice set of 17/18 OE look wheels.

I did talk to James and if they get enough interest, it would be on the table for production. Maybe give them a ring and put your name down.

I love Josh?s wheels and I think there?s lots of wheels that would look good, but it?s like painting a Delorean. Yes, it looks good, but trying to make the car look different is not really the goal of a Delorean owner. If I had a Dodge Challenger, I would need to modify it to stand out from all the rest. I don?t need to do that with the Delorean because I?ve yet to see another one on the road.

I?ve had people tell me that Deloreans are all over south Florida. Obviously, that is an exaggeration, but do you guys see them with somewhat regularly?

I'm aware of 3 total in my area; Rodolfo, myself, and one other I have yet to meet. (saw car in repair shop) According to this we have a high population of Ds.

Just in SWFL, I know of 3 other owners besides me and you.

So that's about 5 in SWFL alone, and there's another 5 or so in SEFL. There's a lot more in central FL though.

Funny, I?ve never seen mine on the road. My wife is the only person to ever drive it and I was inside. I can?t even imagine seeing one on the road while driving mine. I?ll be flabbergasted if it ever happens.

Delorean Midwest made a run of 10 sets last year. They whent pretty quick. I would give them a call if interested. Maybe if they get enough calls they will make another run.
They had them in gray and silver.

I live in Norway and made an order on the second batch. The wheels was drop shipped directly to me from the factory!!!
I've cheramic coated them and will put tires on the shortly.

These wheels are manufactured by Pure Forged Wheels, Midwest is just reselling them.
I had heard Pure forged was selling them direct at one point.

Note the offsets on these wheels are fairly aggressive, there will be fender rubbing on some cars. Do not expect them to be a bolt-on thing.
There was also some poor info out there with tire information. To maintain a stock diameter, and not have stretched sidewalls you want to run:

205/45R16 Front
255/45R17 Rear
