Non standard spark plugs?

I?m going to change my spark plugs and I have a list of the standard plugs with crossover numbers for other manufacturers. I?m interested in non standard plugs the people have tried. Hotter or colder plugs. What have you tried and how did it work out for you?

Good question.

I used the Advanced Search link, the text link that's at upper right of the DMCT home screen located just below the blank search box.

The advanced search criteria pictured below got me 14 hits, including those 2.

I entered the term "spark plugs" and selected Search Titles Only in the pulldown menu to the right to narrow the search (default is Search Entire Posts).

The other boxes and options in the search tool box were left as the default settings.

There is no problem with using X-over plugs or even changing the heat range. The heat range is very dependent on the type of driving you do and the octane of the fuel you use in your area. The recommended heat range is for "average" driving, whatever that means. Just be aware that in the past many owners tried the Iridium plugs and had a bad experience with them leaking besides their being very pricey. As time goes on more and more things will become unobtainable and we will have no choice but to make substitutions.

i use the copper bosch version of the silver one. you can get them on ebay. just does not last as long. which is fine because i dont drive my car much.

Autolite 103 copper is another option
