Is Dexron VI the new flavor of the month?

All I could find was Dexron VI and it was synthetic. A quick Google search said it was backwards compatible all the way to Dexron III and I assume II since 3 replaced 2. The full synthetic bit had me concerned, but it would also seem that all Dexron VI is synthetic.

So is Dexron VI our go to ATF?

Haven't tasted it yet, but it does smell different. I run a licensed version on my car and I have zero leaks. I have about 30k on it so far and the fluid still looks and smells like new. I do have a trans cooler installed though.

I have heard of some seal compatibility issues running dexvi in dexiii transmissions, especially when it gets got.

With how the delorean auto trans already leaks and overheats, it seems like a bad idea to run vi.

I've been using the Dexron VI for the last several years without any noticeable increase in leakage. Its the ACDelco branded stuff on Amazon. I change all my fluids annually for the most part so cannot speak to any long term usage.

I nwas using Synthetic Valvoline Dexron $, but i swapped back to Lucas Dexron III. Seems to feel like it shifts better, but that might just be in my head.
