Good morning everyone. I'm filling up the automatic transmission fluid. originally the gearbox was fitted with the ATF 2D type. Do you think it is possible to pour the ATF 3 type? or buy the 2D ATF? Thank you

By 2D I am guessing you mean Dexron II which is what the auto 'box was filled with when new. Dexron III replaced II and is meant to be safe to use in its place. I have been using III for years without trouble.

When I changed my fluid and filter in 2022, I used ACDelco Dexron VI (2.75 Liters) in order to fill the transmission to where it should be.

I used STP Multi-vehicle ATF (rated for D2-3).

Thank you for your answers. From what you tell me, our automatic transmission is compatible with both older models (d3) and more modern ones. (d6). thank you all

I would stick to something produced or licensed by GM for Dextron and has the GM license # on it.

All of the Dexron stuff is backwards compatible so you should not have any problems. Just be sure it says Dexron. The Workshop Manual says 1.57 gallons. That would be "dry". The only way to get it dry is to disassemble it and drain the torque converter. There is no plug to drain the torque converter so it would have to be removed to drain it. If you are worried about that then you should flush the transmission. Some shops have the equipment to flush the transmission but it is expensive. Just add fluid till you have a reading on the dipstick. Start the motor and add till you get to the low mark. Follow the procedure in the manual. Don't forget to also check the final drive. That takes 85W-90 gear oil.
