good morning to all of you. I'm finally covering the first kilometers with my Delorean. after having overhauled the kjtronic distributor and set the pressures I would like to correctly set the CO2 value using an official tool. the car has its factory catalytic converter. What is the reference value for CO2 at the exhaust? Is it necessary to disconnect the oxygen sensor when carrying out this measurement? thank you all! :)))

In Italy this meter (dwell) is unobtainable. I have the workshop's digital meter available for measuring fumes. it is expressed in %. thanks a lot to everyone.

Exhaust sniffer is probably more accurate anyway, only downside is you don't have a convenient way to check if the full throttle switch works and a couple other O2 sensor related checks found in the shop manual while hooked up to just one unit. But all can be checked with a multimeter.

Down side is your not centering the lambda system. You can read good values at the time of measurement with a wide adjustment of the mixture screw.

Percent on none automotive meters will read backwards. They use the positive pulse to reference percentage. Automotive meters use the negative. They still work fine but if your looking for 35 to 40% that would read 65 to 60% on a meter for electronics work.
So normal cold start running you would read 50% with either type meter.
Wide open throttle would read 60% on automotive but 40% on electronics meter.
Percent values would be book dwell values times 1.1

Correct, but remember your meter is probably inverted. If so your looking to center around 56%. You can verify inverted hitting the WOT switch and if inverted you will read 40%, if not inverted you would read 60%
You may be able to hook your meter up backwards if inverted. (red lead to ground, black to signal)

I took the test. however, the reading remains fixed instead of fluctuating (around 95%). if I remove the connector from the ground the multimeter oscillates. maybe I need to use a correct tool instead of a multimeter.

Using a dwell meter is essentially testing the frequency valve. You're checking to see what duty cycle the Lambda ECU is commanding the frequency valve to follow. If the valve is buzzing like a hornet, and your dwell meter is giving expected readings at given times, it's almost certainly working unless it's gummed up or has debris stuck in the inlet. The frequency valve itself is not a common failure item. The ground reference wire for it can certainly be an issue though.

yes, the frequency valve buzzes, you can hear it. during the last measurement this is the result (4 cylinders):
66-67, approximately 65-67.
The idle speed is around 800 rpm.
the result obtained is not correct, right?

That proves your meter is working reading the correct value.
You normal readings should be swinging around 35 to 45 degrees on the 4 cylinder scale. So your 65 reading is telling you it needs to be adjusted.

I adjusted the 3mm wrench counterclockwise by 1/4 turn but the measurement is still the same. it does not decrease the oscillation. could it be the oxygen sensor? I measured the resistance (ohm) between the black cable and the ground of the Delorean: 0 ohm. Is there a way to check if it works? thanks a lot to everyone

If adjusting the mixture screw has no effect on the dwell meter reading the ECU is in "Open Loop" meaning it is not adjusting the mixture according to the O2 sensor. Could be the motor isn't warmed up enough, the mixture screw is WAY off, or the the O2 sensor is not connected or is bad. If it is the original O2 sensor (and it is hooked up) replace it.

I would replace the O2 sensor. It's very easy to foul it out. Then try the dwell meter tests again.

Can't see how your meter is set or what setting it's on so pretty hard to tell you anything helpful.
