Central Locking

Would like some advice before I take the door card off.

Central locking on the passenger door is unlocked when I unlock the drivers door. But when I lock the drivers door it doesn't lock the passengers door.

Would like some advice before I take the door card off.

Central locking on the passenger door is unlocked when I unlock the drivers door. But when I lock the drivers door it doesn't lock the passengers door.

There is a rotating switch inside the door that passes the signal along to the other door when the first door is unlocked with a key. Perhaps the contacts are dirty or there is a linkage problem.

Had this same issue before but been a while since I was in there.
Inside the door, there is a little triangle piece of metal that pivots one direction when locked and another when unlocked. Depending on the position, it completes the circuit. On my car, the connection was a bit dirty so I cleaned it and no more issues.

Based on what you described, I would expect the issue to be on the Drivers side.

Agreeing with both posts #2 and #3 IF you hear no attempt by the passenger door solenoid/lock to move.

In other words, if nothing at all happens on the passenger side when you lock the driver door then that lock actuator switch (bellcrank) or the mechanism needs attention. As mentioned, the driver door switch is the one to check since its job is to send a signal to the opposite door lock.

You can test it without removing the door panels, at least to start with. Perform the test with both the driver door key AND the interior lock switch on the door armrest. They may each operate the switch slightly differently.
