Looks like the PO has put put something in parallel with the idle switch with one of those awful wire clip bities, judging by the wiring I'm guessing its a hacky idle thermistor, but thats a guess, any other thoughts?

Sorry about the poor picture angle, its about a centimetre tall and just sitting there.

That is a capacitor. I think it's stock on some cars. They put that cap in my car on the back side of the bulkhead connector but put it on the wrong side of the circuit so it did nothing.

Thanks Dave, that makes sense.

So my next question is are the blue connectors stock, were they added by DMC after construction ? Normally you seem them used by owners to piggyback off existing wires for extra lights/power etc., but I've one here and there are a few in the headlight switch, but running into the stock harness. Do other owners have blue snap connectors as part of the original wiring?

Several capacitors were added as the noise reduction kit to take out static and noise from the electrical system for the radio.

This Scotchlock connectors were designed my Satan himself, they are horrible and cause more issues than they are worth but people (and some installers) use them because they are quick and easy VS actually properly soldering the wires in.
