Cabin bolts not lining up, but other bolts are

I'm lowering the body back onto a stripped frame, is there a trick to getting the cabin body bolts aligned when reattaching the frame? The body appears to be too far forward in the cabin by about 2mm, but the shock tops and engine compartment bolts are all good. When I lifted the body I didn't notice anything badly aligned.

It isn't critical today as I just need a rolling car to transport it, but when I build the frame back up it's going to be a lot harder to move the frame around (I'm working on gravel), and a lot more important that all the bolts are in!!

The black underbody can flex if suspended above the frame for a long period of time like during a restoration. It might be somewhat banana shaped now. Give it a couple days and it will settle back down and the holes will realign.

You might also be pinching air conditioning lines between the body and frame. Check to make sure you don't have anything getting pinched. If you used alternate clamps and other hardware to secure various hoses and pipes to the frame they might not be in the correct position.

I had the same issue and ended up using a come-a-long to flex the body enough to get the bolts in. There's only two bolts that are fixed to the frame - the seat belt bolts and the front shock tower. If you can get the seat belt bolts in, you can wrap some straps around the fiberglass of the front end and pull on it a little to get the front shock tower bolts lined up. It won't take much force.

Thanks for that, it raises a question for me; For the seatbelt bolts in my car, the body has no metal fixing in the fiberglass like the other fixing locations, just a rough hole cut, is that right?
