Has anyone installed a cup holder in their car? If so, please share what you have done.

This is the one I know of. Try google for "Delorean cup holder" and you should come up with some info and maybe home made ones.

And here is a link to a thread in this very forum titled "Cup Holder Options?" (https://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?391) It has 200+ posts in it.

Try some of the more recent posts even if they're a few years old?

(Found it using the Advanced Search button at upper right of the page, entering keywords Cup Holder and selecting Search Titles Only, not the default Search Entire Posts)

I can vouche for the DeLorean Go cupholders. I've had mine going on 5 years

I use a stainless cup holder with a vertical extension arm that goes under the center console edge. No holes, non-intrusive. I got a couple of them when I purchased another non-D vehicle so I used one in the D. I can snap a photo.

I use the stock cup/bottle holders beside the seat and carpeted pontoon. :-)

I see what you did there lol

Digressing for a moment... does anyone remember those old school cup holders sold by DeLorean Motor Center (Don Steger)? Those things must be unobtainium as I've never seen one

The ones that hung off the center console on the passenger side? Yeah, I had it on my first DeLorean. They were certainly functional, but kind of got in the way for the passenger. The previous owner of my current car installed these (https://vdovision.com/products/453068763-cup-002-folding-cupholders-50/) on the outside edges of the footwells (probably screwed into the fiberglass) and they're the best solution I know of.

I've pulled out the ashtray and stuck a can in the opening before.

Yes sir! I had those on my DeLorean 'wishlist' 20 years before I bought my car. I felt that by design, either the hinge (that ran under the center console) would fail or the center console screws themselves would shear out under the weight of two tumblers. I'd love to own one for nostalgia's sake

I've seen that implemented as well but I do not remember who. It was mounted forward of the handbrake and adjacent on the passenger side.

Well that's one way to do it!

I created and 3D printed my own and then covered it in the same marine vinyl that I used on the center pad (where the ashtray is). I felt that the DGo ones look out of place, at least this one has the same feel and texture as everything else in the center.

Don?t seem to have a current pic. The only difference is there is a stainless cup in the bottom of the holes for the actual cup to sit in.

I like this cupholder / gap filler from Amazon. Blends in nicely, removeable in a minute if needed, and no mods to the console.

Neat! How does that mount?

Might be kind of hard to see, but there's a loop that goes around the seat belt latch so it can't slide out, and then the gap-filler part just neatly stuffs between the seat and tunnel. Pretty simple!

That's genius! It's a gap filler! Hot Damn! Did you have it custom made or was it an off the shelf one that you shoved down there?

This gray looks like a nice match. I got it in black before they carried it in gray. Definitely does the job, and no modifications necessary
