Window Stuck in up position - pops fuse

OK, so i've had some issues with my windows. A few weeks ago i had my Driver window stick halfway - and when i tried to move it it would blow the fuse. after soe effort i lubricated the window track and got it going again. Now my Passenger window is stuck closed, and pops the fuse when i try to take it down. seems OK if i try to go up, - is there way to check for alignment, or any ideas what to do to get this going? I haven't pulled toe door card yet until i had a plan on what to look for.

I feel like you wont solve this until you take the door card and door bolster off for a better look - even if you go in without any idea, you need eyes on the mechanicals first and foremost.

My first thought is that the window is bound causing the motor to work super hard until it pops a fuse.
My second thought is that maybe an electrical pin is making contact with something that it shouldn't either on the window switch in the center console (Just pull the bugger out) or on the Window Motor itself.

Does it pop the fuse immediately? I?ve never popped a fuse even when I held the bottom a little too long. If you?re holding the button trying to get it to move, I could see it popping, but if it?s popping quick, you have a short somewhere.

OK. I wnet out to test - without changing anything the fuse (i actually put a mini Curcit Breaker in so i didn't use so many fuses - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZQSLS4N?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) popped only when i tried to lower the passenger window. I pulled the switches out of the console and tested again - same. Then i swapped the switches around, and now both work fine. Put it all back into the console and everything works.

Maybe a short inside the switch that i reset by swapping? Time to get new switches?

I had an issue with one of my switches where it would pop the fuses immediately when pressed one way, it was the switch that caused it. The switches were from DGo that were causing the issue, I replaced them with ones from DMCH and everything is working great and never had an issue again.

Yeah, I'm going to replace the switches and also put in the aluminum aligner. i'll see if that keeps the fix permenant

Harking back to my post, its possible that something was/is up with that switch or the connector off of the harness. As you've stated, replace it and go from there but don't make that a habit (replace something to test-fix something)

Yeah, You don't really want to end up with the "Delorean of Theseus" but i figure if the switches are wonky i can eliminate that pretty fast.

Appreciated - but i've got new ones on the way. I will see if I can check the old ones to try to figure out what's up with them.

Well, I pulled the old switches out. They are the longer style and i got them from DMCH. when i pulled them up a bit they seemed to work fine.

I got the Aluminum aligner and 2 new (lighted) switches from Delorean GO. The aligner is supposed to add enough thickness so the switch can't bottom out anymore. Installed all that and it does look better, and no issues so far when i go up or down. I'm wondering if when the longer switches hit bottom maybe they were shorting? No way to tell for sure.

In any case, I'll repost if something changes in the future. THanks!

That's where my mind went when I mentioned to checked the pins for the window switches. There is no wiggle room and theres that possibility that the plug was not seated all of the way on the switch, causing it to be longer and bending a bit. Who knows lol That was just my K-I-S-S thinking
