View Full Version : Electrical fuel pump/sender module 107000 pinout

Does anyone have a pinout diagram of the four wires at the top of the fuel pump/sender module 107000? Should be pump power, pump ground, sensor power, sensor ground. Just need to know which one is which. Thanks!

Looking at the electrical schematic I have, Black wire is sensor ground, Green/Black is sensor power, White/Purple is power to fuel pump from RPM relay, and Black/Purple is fuel pump ground (going through inertia switch).

Just to note, sensor ground should not use fuel pump ground or no fuel gauge ECU will work. Run the sensor ground to the original sensor ground wire or to frame ground.

Thanks Ron - looking straight down at the pump I am seeing, left to right: Black, White, Purple, Black. All wire colors are solid. Given that, do you know which one is which? Here is a picture:

I found something that matches up with my wire colors (and I believe our fuel pump/sender combo is a GM product). I'm gonna go with this:

Well. if anyone ever follows this thread then I should say that the .pdf I posted in the previous message was not correct either. Here is what some trial and error yielded: Refering to the picture I posted: From left to right:
Black: Fuel sensor ground
White: Fuel pump power
Purple: Fuel sensor signal
Black: Fuel pump ground

If you have an ohm meter, you can find the two sensor wires (250 ohms full, 40 ohms empty). The fuel pump pair of wires would be very low resistance Probably 3 or 4 ohms. There should be no connection from the fuel pump to sensor.

Thanks. Funny: I am installing a digital dash and the fuel sensor selection in the software that gave me a fuel level reading that was pretty close to what I had expected was "GM MY 97+". Looking at its default full/empty resistance values they are exactly what you said: 250 and 40.

Sanity check: For this type of fuel sensor, to simulate a completely empty tank, I can just short out the two sensor wires, right?

Shorting the sensor wires would probably result in the gauge ECU to drive the gauge to empty.

I think that's exactly what happened with the initial run of DMCH fuel gauge adapters though?

Someone drew up the schematic and joined the gauge cluster ground with inertia switch ground.
