View Full Version : Engine Plate bolted to left side of engine?

What is this plate for? I had an aftermarket exhaust when I bought the car, so maybe this had a purpose on a stock one? But looking at engine parts pictures I don't see it.
I removed it and will keep it; not sure why though.

It was a shield for the original catalytic converter.

You will also find one duct-taped to the roof box under the Tee panel.

Different plate. Roof box plate is similar (same?) as the latch access plate on the rear fascia closing panel.

Why is there a plate taped to the roof? A heat shield in case I put a catalytic converter there? :thinkin:
