Okay, I don't know if I'm crazy or not but if I turn on the front interior light manually, only the front light turns on. However, if I turn the rear interior light on manually both the front and the rear light turn on...... I feel like they should be both doing the same thing. These lights are not the originals. I replaced them probably close to 20 years ago

Mine each function independently when switched on manually. When both are in the auto/door open mode both illuminate when a door(s) are opened.

Check that you have both of the lights correctly wired up (both the same way). Check both door switches, especially the driver's door. Very common to cross/connect the buzzer circuit and the light circuit. Make sure you have the rubber tips on the door switches so they actually open when you shut the doors. Finally, there are a bunch of diodes in the circuit and one or more can be bad. Manually turning either switch on should not light the other. Only by opening either door should both lights go on and only if the light switches are both in the correct position.

My buzzer circuit has been disabled and stored for years so I doubt that's the problem. Both lights are wired the same. I'll check the rest later

Brian,
This can happen if the purple and the purple white wires are reversed. Check the connections at both front and rear interior lights.

So I switched the lights and now it's opposite when you turn the front light on both come on. But when you turn the rear one on only the rear one comes on. Which I guess I can live with it like that but it's still weird. Everything else seems to be correctly hooked up.
