Throttle Spool Cover

Howdy Folks,

Does any one know if the throttle spool cover plate was a running addition, or if the cars came with them when first released in '81? If this piece was added later, does anyone know when?

I don't know when, but it wasn't 'original'. 01632 has one, but I'm not sure if it was added later or not. Sorry!

I'm going to a car show tomorrow, and want to present the car as stock as possible. I've got a stainless one on my car now, which I know is incorrect. It's to late to get a black one from DMC-CA, so I was thinking about just removing the stainless one, but only if it would be plausible that it came from the factory that way.

I know... the chance that anyone will know the difference is incredibly slim, but I'm striving to be as correct as possible with the readily visible stuff on 10718.

It was a recall item.

I looked up the recall notice. It' looks like it went out in January of 1982, so it is possible that my car left the factory w/o the black plate.
