Window motor

My passenger window is down and won't go back up. Pressing the switch, I hear the motor humming but nothing happens. Is there anything the repairable or is a new regulator necessary? I'm going to get the lower door panel off in the morning to get a better look. Thank you.

The OEM window motor and regulator aren't worth trying to make work. The vendors sell an improved motor and lift mechanism. Be careful working inside the doors, there are a LOT of sharp edges and you will get all cut up if you aren't careful.

Thanks, and yes I remember the sharp edges from when I installed the wings a loft.

Mine did the same thing! Hence the replacement of the motors!

Too bad my tool booth window doesn't sit well, and wiggles instead of being firmly on its tracks! So I'm left without a connected motor once again! We have to figure out a way to make the drop glass tight on its tracks before plugging the thing back on.

Mine is operating fine, as long as you don't hold the up switch after the window is fully up. I know most on here won't approve, but I'm gonna rig up a repair rather than pull the regulator. 😬

Nothing wrong with trying to repair the old regulator but it won't last. Especially if you (or your passenger) don't release the switch quickly when the window is all the way up or down. The new regulators are more robust and can take more abuse before failing. I still have the original regulators but am very careful with operating them.
