Steering rack vendor recommendation

Hello. I need to have the steering rack replaced, but not sure which vendor is recommended. I saw old posts where PJ Grady's rebuilt rack was recommended, and contacted them through their web site (I will also call them when I am able), but not sure if he still has them or not, of is even in operation at this time. DMC says new version is out of stock. Delorean GO sells new and rebuilts. I'm not looking for cheapest, but one that is reliable and in stock. Also, is there differences based on VIN (mine is 10944). Thanks!

I sold my used original steering rack to Rob Grady about a year ago. Assumed he'd be rebuilding it then offering it for sale. You can contact him through Facebook as well, might be the quicker way to reach him.

Two years ago I replaced my worn out rack (totally worn, not rebuildable) with a D-Go unit. Tight fit when installing. Works great. No issues so far. Probably about 15k miles on it now?

The PJ Grady steering rack is very good, I've had one for at least 20 years and I just recently gave mine a look over while doing a frame off restoration. Still good to go after re-setting the inner tie rod pre-tension. He's easiest to contact on Facebook messenger.

Thanks for the recommendations (PJ Grady and Delorean Go). I did contact Rob Grady via phone and ordered a rebuilt rack from him. He is backlogged a little bit and can expect it in about a month.

Back in November or December 2025 I tried contacting them via their web site form I had to fill out with my question regarding locating a good used DeLorean driver door. There was no reply. I tried calling the phone number on their web site and left a voicemail message. And again no reply. I automatically assumed they were closed permanently. Over two decades I have bought many parts from P.J. Grady. I especially liked the front lowering springs and the headliner consisting of two separate panels that are made of fiberglass instead of the original equipment fiber board.
My steering rack I replaced back in 2007 with a unit from DMC Texas. While I was in there I replaced the Steering Column Bushing part number 101994 with a Delrin plastic part also from DMC Texas. That bushing is located where the steering column shaft passes through the black fiberglass wall.

Yes Rob is still in business - he is actually updating his website and webstore right now. He's a one-man show and very busy but still turning out the good stuff if you are willing to wait a little bit for it. He's easiest to reach on Facebook messenger or his cell phone.
