HELP! I accidentally hijacked someone's thread

I accidentally hyjacked 82DMC12's build thread. I sent a message to Ron and haven't had any response. Any other options for getting this fixed? I would like to move what I posted over to my restoration thread.
Also why can we not go back and edit or delete anything anymore?

Good of you to try to fix it yourself.

I don't recall ever having edit/delete permission for any of my posts EXCEPT for the 5-10 minutes after I post it. During that interval there's an Edit Post button somewhere below the message. After which time it's locked for regular members. After you press the Edit Post button your latest post will re-activate for your edit (or deletion) and won't get saved until you press Submit again.

There's a list of General Rules about how this forum works. This link takes you to (https://dmctalk.org/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_editing_de leting) the part about Editing and Deleting a post.

As for getting attention for issues like this I believe but do not know that the secret word is Moderator. By posting a repair message like this one that also includes the word "moderator" in it I think the message automatically is copied into view for all of the moderators, including Ron. Not sure of this.

So this very thread now has moderator mentioned in it which may catch a moderator's attention but they won't easily know the thread you're wanting fixed.

So I recommend you again go over to the thread you accidentally hijacked and add a new reply containing the word moderator (along with perhaps the #s/dates of the posts you want them to delete from that thread) in it so they will see the thread you actually want them to fix which is not this thread. They may want to eventually delete this particular thread.

Finally, be patient. I suspect the moderators pay attention to cleaning up messes but I think the response time varies.
