Howdy...

Newbie-like question from an old-timer, lol... which way does the idle speed regulator motor go? There is an arrow on the body of the part, just not sure if it is supposed to point towards the front of the car or the back?

Thanks!

Arrow points in the direction of air flow. So everything hooked up the arrow points forward.

Is air flow going to the cold start valve or coming from it?

From cold start valve pipe to pipe of agony in air metering assembly.

I don't think it matters with a clean new idle motor. One way would push the seal tighter with air flow if there is any play in the bearings. I think one owner found mounting it backwards helped stabilize the idle RPM. It may be his idle motor was dirty or worn so it reduced friction.
