Dear experts,
same as 10 years ago my DeLorean does not switch into the first gear when putting it in D. I suspect the govenor, as it was the case the last time, I had it repaired and it fixed the problem. Second/third and reverse work flawlessly. But I have to attend a classic historic race on Thursday with several hillclimbs (I know, it is no racecar, but the people love it anyway) I am looking for a way to manually install a push button switch into the cabin to power the solenoid #1 when taking off. That would put the gearbox in 1st, right? I measured the diagnostic port and it does show 10V voltage for the solenoid #1 and #2, engine not running, gear selector in D. When I the "5 o-clock" pin (grey), would it actuate the #1 solenoid (if that is in working condition)?
What would be the best way to get into the solenoid wiring? Is there something to consider?
Thanks for any help here! I don't want to stress the gearbox without first gear :-)
thanks................Eugen
