View Full Version : BTTF in 3D – only a matter of time?

I have been noticing the new trend in Hollywood; not only are they remaking all the classics, but they are re-releasing 3D versions of several – The Lion King is but the most recent.

While at the “picture-house” on Saturday, they showed a trailer for Star Wars Episode I – 3D to be released next spring, presumably followed by all the others. Which lead me to speculate about whether they would bother with a 3D version of some of y’alls favorite film? Suitable candidate or not?

Of course this may already be in the works, and I just haven't heard about it.

Well im not surprised by the SW-3D. Lucus does like milking it. I wouldn't watch any of the SW-3D on principle but would watch the BTTF-3D if it happened. Personally, I really dont like 3-D movies. IMO, it really reduces the enjoyment of the movie.

I'm with Sean on this one. Unless it's designed to be a 3D film, its just a gimmick. As for Lucas milkin' SW we could start a whole new thread on the disgrace that franchise has become. When it comes to matters SW I'm a purist fuck, who doesn't even acknowledge the abortion that was Episodes I, II and III. I'll leave it with this...

I hope they don't release BTTF in 3D. The last 3D movie I saw at the theater was Tron. After about 30 secods of watching the thing I took the glasses off and watched the rest of the movie without glasses. I enjoyed a slightly blurry image much better than having stuff popping out at me and distracting me from the story.

George Lucas is a hack.

I salute Lucas for being dedicated to trolling the world for 34 years... while making money doing it. Brilliant.

Anyway, I'm uninterested in a 3D version of BTTF. Movies made 3D after the fact look really weird. For example, the recent 3D release of The Lion King made every character look like a cardboard cutout... because it was never intended for 3D.

I might see it. Only because I know I'll get dragged and badgered til I do.

I don't usually like 3D movies...but I have to admit, Avatar was visually stunning in it.

it gives me a headache. When going to the movies with my kids, I usually take the glasses of and take a little nap.

So I avoid it as well.

Part II would maybe be worthy in 3D, not the other 2. Should stay as is, Bluray version should be the final icing to the awesome series. Unless new technology surfaces.
