So, 8 days ago, I was heading out to work, just pulled out of my neighborhood and began accelerating up on the main drag. Unfortunately with my lack of free time and a working wideband O2 sensor, my cold engine tuning hasn't been finished (Megasquirt EFI). The engine stumbled for a second and then took off again. It basically gave the whole car a helluva jerk. Well I get to the next stoplight, first in line, and when the light turns green, I have no first gear! I can move the stick partially forward but it is certainly not engaging in any gear, not even close. Thinking perhaps a hydraulic issue, I pump the clutch pedal rapidly, but still no first gear. The car behind me is honking now. I try second gear, NOTHING! I'm about to give up and put the 4-way flashers on, then I try 3rd. It goes in! I carefully take off and loop around back to my house. Once home, I realize I can get it into first gear if I lift up on the shifter above the reverse lockout. Ah Ha! Its nothing more than an issue with the crossgate adustment. But hmm, how on earth could the crossgate adjustment get thrown out of whack so suddenly. Then the dreaded thought comes to mind, I broke a transmission mount. Sure enough, I confirmed this, then last night had some time to remove it. It broke on the all-metal half. Its a pretty clean break, it fits together snug with no bent or missing pieces. Shouldn't be much of a problem to weld. I just need to find someone to weld it now. So what I thought might have been a season-ending injury, could just turn out to be 2 weeks on the disabled list. Yay.

I'm sure you had some dreaded thoughts! Find a good muffler shop, they should be able to lay a good bead down for you.

Glad it isn't a show stopper, but certainly is frustrating and time consuming. Hope you are able to get back on the road soon!

Next month the snow will be flying and my car will be down until late march/april.

Good to know you'll have replacements though for this depleted part.
