Howdy Folks,
Does anyone know if gray floormats were originally offered back in the '80s, or if they were only offered in black back then?
Thanks!

OEM Accessory was black only.

Gray was available in the early 80's as my #1 car has them. I purchased them sometime around '84. My #2 car has black custom DMC rugs purchased from DMCNW. You can select black or gray to purchase today from DMCNW

Thanks folks.
Sounds like black was what came from the factory, with gray being made available later (after market).
I've got gray ones in one car now, but am thinking about taking advantage of the DMCH summer special and get more "correct" black ones.

I got these ones and am very happy with them. Good quality and they fit well.

Now it's my turn for a question - I recently bought a car that has these mats in it. The seller bought the car off the dealer lot in 1982. The car is about 99% original in every way. I've seen these from time to time and always figured they were an aftermarket mat. They are identical to the usual black wool mats that are very common other than the huge lettering.
Were these an alternative factory option or a dealer getting creative?

I had a set of those in 10718, but assumed they were aftermarket. If memory serves, they seemed a bit lower quality than the DMCH reproductions (i.e. no grippy rubber backing).

Shameless plug below.
WOW! I just love my new DMC Northwest black carpeted floor mats.
They come in any color you want so long as it’s black. The owner of DMC NW, Toby Peterson told me that people told him the grey carpet samples were not a good match for the existing interior of the DeLorean so black is the only color available with the DMC NW logo.
They come with little nubs on the back to prevent the floor mat from moving around. And it works!
Check out the pictures below.
If you don’t want the DMC Northwest logo they are happy to sell you the DMC logo ones in black or gray.

I don't have the answer, but I do like them. Doesn't the dealer option brochure only have the "regular" version printed in it? And they appear to be in good condition. Would you consider selling them to me?
