Hello all, I was doing my last exterior/interior wash of my Delorean today before winter storage. I was vaccuming the inside of my glove box and I accidentely tore a piece of that fabric inside my glove box that goes over top of the glovebox insert. Is that fabric replaceable from any DMC Vendor? Purely cosmetic, and only visible when the glove box is open but still an ugly eye sore. That's what I get for tying to clean that. I did more harm than good lol.

I was not aware this was a fabric, I think it was a spray on flocking which brings me to my point of just have an interior shop re spray the flocking it for you. Much cheaper than the 100.00 insert.

If an interior shop wants too much for the job, swing by a local car dealership and have thier interior repair vendor fix it for you. It would probably cost you around 30-40 dollars.

How do you flock something if its missing in a spot?

My glove box insert was also in need of a cosmetic tune-up.
I sanded the inside of the glove box completely. Takes you minutes only, this stuff comes right off.
It is certainly not any type of fabric; this stuff is sprayed on.

I bought a kit in the UK, it is called "flocking kit" You paint on a thick black paint, and you put some of this flocking powder in a delivered hand-squeeze bottle. and squeeze until the paint is completely covered with the flocking. You let dry for a day turn it over and the excess powder falls out. Perfect, looks like new.
I did this 2 years ago, still looks new today.

On the old forum I had this explained with pictures. I think I have them burned on some CD somewhere.
I bought the kit at Frost in the UK. 18£ or so. The kit contains enough for at least 3 or 4inserts.

Search black flocking kit on eBay, there are numerous kits available from about £20 I would imagine they are all pretty much the same.
