Hello,

Anyone have a picture of a Automatic Transmission window sticker?

I need one or two as reference, Delorean Museum does not have one for my son's vehicle.

Don't need your vin if that might be an issue, just everything else as a reference so I can make one for my son's car.

His vehicle was sold by: Dealer # 21101 Smyly Buick, Inc. 700 Broadway Malden MA 2148

1981 Auto.

Thank you!

I photoshopped mine from the one avaliable online...looks perfect as I copied bits of text from the picture to form the words I needed. I'm going to make another one for the "know it alls" out there with a sticker price of around 120k :hihi2:

If you like I can do one for you, just PM me your vin, build date, etc.(or just post it here if you don't care to have it "out there") It doesn't take long to make one up.

Don't forget this (http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?1583-VIN-Chronology-List-with-Dealer-Numbers-Dealer-List-w-numbers-Blank-Window-Sticker) is available to you as well. IIRC, the Automatic transmission was a $600 option. Everything else should be near identical.

Ohh yeah, I forgot about the blank one. I tried it but I just didn't like the font..I couldnt get it to match. I also like the aged "yellowing" which prints out nice and makes a very convincing sticker. I even put mine in a clear sleeve at shows. for that "sacred document" look..and I'm not a bit worried about someone stealing it:cool1:

PS: OT but it might be a good tip for those that do have original stickers to just make a photocopy for shows.

Here is a stock "updated fair market value" sticker from Tamir's site just to show off my mad photo skilz:

Levy's took a bit more work since I had to spell out "Automatic" and redo the vin, engine, and dealer text, as well as update the totals.

Still would like to have a copy of a original Auto Transmission window sticker, early VIN would be better.

I would like to thank Michael for his work but, I know it is hard to change pieces of information with PhotoShop.

My son's car is 2565 with windshield antenna and auto transmission, so a original WS would help.

I found one on Tamir's site but it is for a "Gold One".

Thank you again.

As far as I know, there are no online images of an auto window sticker. Maybe someone could upload one if they have it.

What info was missing?

PS..From what I have been told, the layout is correct, the manual was listed in std. equipment even with an auto, which is listed under options. Antenna locations were vin specific and not noted on a sticker.

Michael,

I just feel that I'm asking too much from you!

Your window sticker shows "Electric Power Antenna"

Also shows Manual Transmission on the Fuel Economy section
Shows 1982 on the Fuel Economy section
I would also believe that std. transmissions and auto should have different gas mileage.

This is an image of an auto WS on Tamir's site: http://www.entermyworld.com/cat/rare/gold/g04301i.jpg

And this is an image of your Window Sticker on Tamir's site: http://www.entermyworld.com/mydmc/sticker

Again, your WS looks awesome, I will use, no doubt!

See why I don't feel like asking you to fix it?

Ooopps, I didn't even look at the bottom. It no problem, I already have the text made so I will touch it up some tonight. It's no problem to delete the antenna either. 5 minutes of work. As far as mileage goes, I never changed mine, as I was looking for something convincing and not actually correct. If its fixable I will change it.

Michael,

Since you asked:

Is it possible to add the dotted MPG to your Window Sticker?

Now I feel like you have enough time to play around with your Photo Shop!

The fonts on the WS were not all the same. My guess is they were all printed by the factory but the dealer filled in some information using a manual typewriter. During this era not everybody had a computer, manual typewriters were still in use. If you look at a lot of WS you will see some of the type is crooked, misaligned, etc. To recreate one you need the selling dealer and the port of entry. Using enough WS you can infer a lot of that information. I also think you need the key code. The WS also changed over time so they are not all the same in the way things appear to be listed. A lot of subtle nuances if you want to get it right.

OK, here is the final edit, with all info correct I hope. The mileage was just typed in, no dot matrix print on the original. I just plucked out a number that would be lower, on mine I left it all alone since it was just for show. The only thing I changes was the vin and transmission. David is correct, the dealer font was different from the other text, so I didn't feel too bad about changing it to something that would fit(especially since there were not enough characters to spell your dealer on the original)
