Ive just bought a low mileage delorean all original, but the tires are as dry as a stone and they cause vibration. What tires can i buy that look as close as possible to the originals and were?
Thanks!

There are VERY few matching tires avaliable in original sizes. To look OE, I would suggest the tires I got a few months ago, Cooper Cobra's. Even though they match treadwise, the sidewalls are Raised white letter on the rear, black on the fronts(or is it the other way around)...anyway just turn all 4 of them inside out and there is a nice design on the back side as well. One might even call it "period correct".

Now you have a set of matching tires, (tread and sidewall) that are original size and they look period correct. What I mean by that is no crazy sidewall design or exotic tread pattern most sport tires have today. I will put up a pic in a bit for you.

I got mine at tires-easy.com and supply was low then.

Here is a pic of my rear tire. It's not a good pic because I had to raise my exposure to get the print to show, but at least you can see what the tire looks like.

Do yourself a favor and do not drive on those tires! 30 year old tires will be dry rotted and have a very high risk of blowing out.

There are several other threads here on tires. Some people like the Cooper Cobras, but they are no longer in production, and haven't been for several years, so any tire you buy will have been sitting for a while. Check the date code.

If you're willing to go down one size in the rear, your options open up significantly.

That's what I and many others have done. My car has a nice set of Falkens and I'm quite happy with them.

Those tires look great! I just went on the Cooper website. They had the Cobras for the rear, but a different 'touring' tire for the front.

The fronts are on ebay right now

You might still find a set of Firestones locally in the correct sizes.
