Does anyone have a copy, or know of a source where I can find the complete, raw, unedited footage of the hotel room and verbal exchange when John De Lorean was arrested? I've passively searched for it over the years, but couldn't ever find anything. Today while surfing around on the internet, I wound up on a biography page for Larry Flynt who of course obtained a copy of the tape through a guy who worked for JZD's first set of lawyers. While discussing Flynt's legal troubles the De Lorean tape is mentioned, along with this quote:
Also in 1983, he leaked an FBI surveillance tape to the media regarding John DeLorean. In the videos, when arresting DeLorean, the FBI is shown asking him whether he would rather defend himself or have "his daughter's head smashed in."
I want to see this. Other than the gold bars comment, I've never known anything else that was said. If true, this would indeed back up De Lorean's claim that threats were made against his family if he failed to cooperate. I am really intent on finding this now.
