I took Red to our first parade where we were participating. Red was a hit with young and old. The young kids loved the doors and the older people yelled random Delorean/BTTF as we threw candy at them.

Parade goers have been sending me pictures. This is my copilot Jay helping me throw goodies.

I have no idea where that phantom blue streamer in the center of my door came from. There was no blue in that area.

Here's a higher resolution image of the decorations with a little time machine on top. That truck is awesome but sadly isn't mine. I'm working on it for a neighbor.

I have a lot more with detail but my camera isn't cooperating with my PC. I need to buy a card reader.

Before the parade I was in the antique car section getting lined up. A few people stopped by to see the car and laugh at my decorations. I had a teenager ask me how long it took me to make the doors do that. I tried to explain to him that the Deloreans were built that way when I was interrupted by a much younger boy shouting DELOREAN! at the top of his lungs and running over to take pictures of the car. I think the older one was embarrassed because he wandered off without any more questions. A coworker stopped by because his sons saw the D in the lot when they were driving by. They've wanted to see Red since I bought her. They got to sit in the car and get their pictures taken. I had bought them each a BTTF Hot Wheels but left them at home because I needed room for the candy. I only had one in the car and didn't want them to fight.

My leg is still sore from all the stop and go during the parade. We lost 3 other classic cars during the run due to overheating or breakdowns. A Triumph, Model T, and hot rodded 71 Chevy truck all stopped but Red held her own and never went above 200 degrees. I was proud of my D.

After the show we gathered around the parade grounds and my sister brought over 2 kids from her daycare to see the car. The little boy got to sit in the driver's seat and pretend to drive. We chatted for over 10 minutes while he and his sister sat in the car and stole all the left over candy (thankfully). When his dad took the boy out of the D he started to cry. He didn't want to leave the car. I guess know who I'll end up selling her too when I get too old to drive.

I had a great time and I'll definitely do this again next year.

This one is my favorite so far. That bead necklace hanging in the air in front of the D is hilarious.

Very cool, I like the Christmas wrapped vents!

Thanks, I'm very proud of how well she runs now. :D

I put the vents in the attic for next year. I hope to come up with some more interesting stuff to add as well. A plastic banana for the Mr Fusion is on the top of that list.

Yep, short little parade around the town. There were about 5 floats and over 100 nice cars.

Did you pick Blue and Silver for Hanukkah?

Also, you gave me an idea. I am going to start keeping candy in my DeLorean. When people shout at it, I will throw candy at them.

lol, DELORE-OOOWW! Delorean's are a little too slow for a quick get away ;)

I picked the silver and blue since the time machine threw blue sparks before it jumped through time and silver seemed like a nice festive color instead of the black cables that run across the replicas. It also matched the lightning style wrapping paper I had picked out for the vents.

No real stories but here is a photo of a 4th of July parade I entered with some of my cars.

Whats sad is if I didn't need a place to work on my Delorean I would actually choose to live in a van down by the river.

Lmao! I'm glad the lettering wasn't overlooked. God rest that van's soul. Oh the memories.

These are from the Virginia Beach Veterans Day Parade this past weekend. I did it with the local car club TRACCA. We've got some pretty awesome cars in that club, though I'm the only DeLorean and the second newest car of about 400 or so, lol. But this year we were really fortunate to have a good turnout for the parade, among them was a 57 T-Bird, a Desoto, and an immaculate '41 Dodge pick-up that very appropriately led the pack.

I forget what year that Cadi is, but it's damn sexy no? Dwarfed behind it is a very pretty '67 Alfa-Romeo

The bonnet is a great place for a flag. Ironically, the flag is made in China, that's ok because its being held on with some military grade duct tape (made in North Carolina)

A local HS drill team. They wanted a picture for their yearbook.

Nice James. I'm curious what the old timers think of the D?

Unfortunately I didn't complete this year's parade. I started to overheat and pulled to the side just to be safe. I would have made it had they not lined us up 20 minute early and then just parked us. A few other classics had the same issue. I was the only one that couldn't get started before the parade fully passed though. I made it about halfway through the route.

Sucks...Red was looking so awesome too.

That sucks man; parades can be scary sometimes. I almost didn't make it through my first one and it was in downtown Cincy so there wouldn't have been anywhere to turn off. I remember we had done work on one of Cliff S. cars before a parade once and something had happened causing the fans to get disconnected. The car was his EFI car and sure enough the temp started to rise. He richened his mixture from inside his car (since he can control that) and turned the heater on full blast and was able to make it through. It got so hot though that his passenger's flip flops got deformed! Sometimes you're not that lucky though.

What happened? No fans?

I think my coolant started to boil. I don't think the cap held the proper pressure. I'll test it tomorrow, once I got home I parked her and left her alone. I was kind of irritated with the whole thing. I'm not really sure if the fans kicked on or not. It was so loud during the parade I really couldn't tell. I had my heater going but it just didn't help bring down the temps.

Got ya. Yea, even with my cooling fan fail light acting as a fan indicator, I'll still repeatedly stick my hand under the car during parades to feel if the hot air is blowing past. That's the worst feeling when that needle rises. Cliff said he hovered around the first orange mark the entire parade. I think he's pretty gutsy to attempt it but he made it. Personally I would never tempt it though. I'd be gone in a flash trying to get airflow through the radiator. It's one thing to hit that mark then come back down, it's another to chill at that mark for an hour or so :ohcrap:

Wow, now that is a heavily decorated Delorean. Looks awesome.

My cap was the culprit. I stuck it on my tester and it couldn't even hold one pound of pressure. At least I caught it during the parade and not on the side of the road somewhere.
