Hi everyone, I'm a long time member, and come here to read often, but rarely post. I could use some advise. I have a pair of rear Delorean tires Goodyear NCT60 235/60ZR15 tires, I took off my Delorean when I bought my Michelins a while back. I thought they were the original NCT's and thats why I saved them, but I don't think they are, after doing some research recently. I'm moving soon, and don't have space for them, are they worth keeping even though there not original but still in the NCT family?
Thanks for any advise...

Origional tires would have a NCT HR60 on the side is slightly smaller print. You tires are considered acceptable for Concours, but they are not origional to the cars.

If you had a full set they might be worth something but just 2, not much. Several years ago I had a full set of NCT's and I sold them for $100. Not for driving, but they could be used to save a point at a concours. At this point I would just throw them away.

I cannot say the tires in the photos would or would not pass concours scrutiny.
My recollection is that the tread pattern on those tires is not the same as the pattern on the Goodyear NCT tires originally fitted to DeLoreans.
The NCT brand lasted for a long time in many variations.
And if your tires really have a Z speed rating as your posting says then they most certainly are not the OEM tires, along the lines of your research. Those original tires had an H speed rating. As to keeping them or not, no advice.

Recycle them.
You're no fun... there's only one right way to dispose of tires... :)

When I bought my car this summer, I let Discount Tire trash the NCTs when I got new tires for it.
I was also told most tire shop don't do maintenance on tires that are over 10 years old.

Did the original tires have the three character date code on them?

I had a set of original NCTs with 11,000 miles on them when I purchased #16128, I did not keep them due to uneven wear. IMO, the only NCTs worth keeping are those with less than about 1000 miles on them or so, or if you have a nice concours car that is not driven and show virtually zero wear. With that said, OP, do with them what you wish as they are yours.

Not from the factory. They all matched and were NCTs.

The original NCT's would have a 3 digit date code. In 2000 tires went to the 4 digit date code.

Thanks for the input everyone.... I think I had them long enuff, I'm never going to install install them again, there not the "H" rated version NCT anyway, there "Z" and I really don't want to keep storing them, taking up storage space. My Delorean is not concorse level but still very clean & nice. I don't know if they would be worth shipping, but would anyone want them? Otherwise I'll just dispose of them at the local tire shop. Thanks again

When I bought Red she had the original rears. They had some tread left, held air, weren't dry rotted, and had no repairs. I decided to keep them when I had the tires replaced.
