View Full Version : Fuel Fuel Distribtor Bolt orm John Hervey

When I bought a bunch of stuff form John Hervey, fuel pump, fuel injectors, S/S fuel lines, ect... he also sent me a New Bolt for the fuel distributor to replace a stock one for one of the fuel lines. This Bolt has 3 holes in it not the typical 2 holes. Anyone know which bolt does it replace, and why it has 3 holes?? Improvement??

Near the 2 o clock position as you look at the FD, its the one with two hoses attached...

2 hoses don't go on this, its just for 1 hose.

It's for the soft line that goes to the fuel filter. I bought a stainless fuel hose update kit from him and didn't know what to do with that bolt either. I reused my existing one. The fitting at the fuel filter leaked like a sieve. Then I put that 'extra' bolt in and voila - much better.

Edit: it goes at the end of the soft line that attaches directly to the filter. If you compare the fitting on the new line to your old one carefully, you will see that it's not identical. The other fittings all are but this one needs a new bolt. I don't know why he doesn't include instructions to that effect, but hey....

John tends to put a bit of info on his website, but I can't think of any time he sent me instructions on anything....

Very true. I remember getting his copper fuel washer kit and being positively floored that they were taped to a sheet of paper that indicated what went where.

However - he'll spend hours and hours on the phone with you if you need him to. He'd stay on speakerphone and talk you all the way through a VOD rebuild if you asked. One of the reasons I like the guy. I had some alternator troubles a while back and he spent an hour, maybe 2 on the phone with me - on a Saturday no less.

Come to think of it, the alternator came with some instructions too. :) Apparently I didn't follow them particularly well.
