I just got Hervey's silicone hose set, but the hoses all feel kind of loose. Have you installed them and had the same problem? Do I need to put tie-wraps or clamps on them?
Thanks!
Alex

How loose are we talking? Like they just pull right off? I have his hoses, and I've had them for four years without issue.

+1. I got them recently and they felt like they'd never come off. As I recall, the hoses are several different diameters, both inside and outside. Are you sure you're putting them in the right places?

Installed a few sets and never noticed at excessive looseness.

That is strange. Yes, they are loose to the point of popping out if you touch them much.
I followed the numbers map on his website:
7400
plus they are different lengths and they are all going in place. I also tried them in one direction or the other.

The old ones were tight. The new ones do fit, and look like they may not leak, but you can easily turn them and #5 and #6 have popped out when moving things around.

I'll keep looking to see what's up. We did put little tie-wraps on the Thermal Control Valve before putting the intake back in, to make sure those don't come out (although the heat might melt them?).

Thanks!

I wouldnt worry about that.

Talking about vacuum, the charcoal canister has 3 hoses going into it, and then one empty fitting. Looking at the parts diagram it mentions it should have a "101112 Cap, Blanking". Mine is just open. Is this a vacuum leak? Should I just cap it with a hose or something?

That's a really good question. Will be curious to hear from someone else, as I think I had an open fitting there as well. Don't remember 100% but will check when I get home.

It should be caped but it made no difference in any engine operation on my car.

I guess it may be capped so gasoline fumes don't leak out.

Has anyone ever removed the Roll Over Valve 101402? I was detailing my bonnet area today and removed that valve from under where the fuel fill hose is and it had a small port that sticks thru the firewall. I am assuming there should be a vacuum line attached to it...? where is the other end of it. I need to reattach it but its impossible to see that area from the inside the car since its blocked by the steering column plate.

mine was capped but the cap was rotten and falling apart. I picked up a rubber cap at the local car parts place. The tube that I capped said "carb bowl"
(I am replying to post #7, not #11)

One end of it goes to the small line on the filler neck, the other end goes to the carbon can at the back of the car. You can see a decent schematic of it here:

http://store.delorean.com/c-275-2-4-0-evaporative-control-systems.aspx

You need to have it there. It is inline with the tank vent, if you cap it off pressure will build up in the tank and bad things will happen. If you bypass it, the issue is that if the car ever turns over fuel will run out the vent hose at the back of the car. If you leave it open fuel will run out the opening (you will also get a gas smell all the time)

Although IMO if you do turn the car over with a full gas tank, fuel will likely leak out the pump boot and sender so you're probably screwed anyway.

In any case - don't just cap off the vent.

Thanks for replying Dave, but I should clarify... I unscewed the unit from the firewall and there appears to be a nipple on the backside of it that goes into the firewall of the car and ends up somewhere under the dash near the steering column. I was concerned that it was connected to an unseen vacuum line under there. After further research I dont see an info that it is, so I now wonder why it has this hole in the firewall at all...

It's for a carb bowl and should be capped off.
