The myth is that starships are hard to work on, but any good engineer can handle it, and parts are readily avaliable from authorized vendors in 5 different sectors throughout the galaxy, and one on the outer rim.

Things to look out for are hull corrosion, plasma conduits, and faulty warp cores.

Here is my remanufactured refiit from the San Francisco ship yards:

Michael, that is a really nice display stand... although based on the quality of your other work i would expect nothing less.

Why those vendors still exist i don't know, because these days every good workshop has a good-sized replicator.

Thanks, I just finished the backlit emblem last night, so I was looking for a chance for a shameless self promotion....and then this thread came along.

Is that the Master Replicas Studio Scale?

WOW... it's beautiful.

Cheers to you. Nice work on the pedestal too.

No, that's a Polar Lights 1/350 model kit I built over a year ago, highly modified and super detailed:

Thank you very much! I just started on a NX-01 From the series "Enterprise" in the same scale right now. Almost finished with the lighting rig.

Another thread successfully derailed to bring all the attention to me. :p

I love it! Although not a "conventional Trekkie" (bad pun there,) I do love TOS and TNG era. I would have to say the refit Constitution has always been a favorite of mine. My poor old dad will go on about the Enterprise-E. I still love watching it with him. Got my wife hooked on Trek too.

My Dad- "Look, John! An E-Class."
Me- "Dad...a Mercedes-Benz is an E-Class. That's a SOVEREIGN class Federation cruiser."
Dad- "Oh, ok. You're right." :)

...and any Galaxy-class ship will beat the pants off a Sovereign-class ship any day of the week. Just FYI.

Seriously? I think the Sov's quantum torpedoes would stop the flying hotel dead in its tracks.

This is the Trek equivalent of the auto vs. manual debate.(auto being Galaxy class of course)

Or maybe carb vs. FI....carb being NX class

This had to be one of the dumbest scenes in any of the Trek films so far. Second only to the Willy Wonka tubes in Abrams Trek '09.

But I like the comparisons so far, Sovereign=5speed, Galaxy=Auto, NX=Carbed. Yup sounds about right to me!
