Anyone in Orlando area help me with door aligment or clutch replacement?

Hey everyone 5873 is in need of a new clutch and my drivers door isn't closing properly. So if someone is willing to help that would be awesome! The problem is I have a lack of skill at this but I'm willing to learn and help with the process. I know its a big task to handle so for a plan B does anyone know of a shop around the Orlando area that would be a good place to take her to without being charged a crazy amount of money for a cluch replacement? Any advice would be a huge help thanks! Brandon

I'm not sure of anyone in Orlando Brandon, but my mechanic in Jacksonville is really good with Deloreans. He fixed VIN4980 and 6813 quite well.

Are you absolutely sure it is the clutch itself? If you haven't already, take a look at the fluid reservoir and make sure there is fluid in there. I can't remember if the clutch and/or hydraulics were part of your "big fix" or not.

Doors don't suddenly start closing poorly, under normal circumstances. Are the seals seated properly? Any evidence of the the hinges, stiker pins, or strut ball mounts suddenly moving or giving way? Knowing the hx of your car (outside in a ditch under a tree for years), I would be deathly afraid of the dreaded roof box rot.

Don't you still need your brake booster fixed too?

Yea break booster too lol, about 2 months ago I was going to a friends condo and to get passed the gate you had to type in the password in the call box but since my window doesn't go down my dumbass opened the door as I was still crusing at 2mph and my door hit the call box and knocked the aligment a few notches. And yes I'm sure its the clutch for all I know its the orginal one, I've driven plenty of cars to know what a crappy / slippy clutch feels like, and the shift linkage feels really clunky and I would also like to get that fixed to lol. Its been doing this for awhile none of it happend over night

Now the truth comes out, in regards to the door. That is probably going to be a SOB that only a DMC expert could fix for you. Why don't you go back to the same call box and drive it in reverse at 2mph, that would put it right back where it was (joking/LOL).

You are only about 3-4 hrs from DMCFL aren't you? If you need them to fix the door alignment, then they can take care of your clutch and brake booster as well. Might as well fix that window that won't go down and throw an angle drive on there too. Your windows used to go down, what happened there? I remember your shift linkage being crappy when I drove it last as well. Shouldn't have spent that money on the wheel refurb, huh?

Haha yea I am but since I'm not working now I'm not bring in the loot like I used to and going to school time is a issue as well. me and my uncle could tackle the break booster and my driver window never worked just the passenger window, but if I did go to DmcFl I'm guessing between fuel and buying the clutch and labor it would be almost 1000 dollars just to get the clutch done. Which is just too much for me to spend at the moment so that's why ill like to do it myself/with a partner lol and no I don't regret getting the wheels redone they still look awesome!

I know a couple of people on the board have had luck with Aamco doing D transmission work. i remember when Jeremiah first bought his car, his auto trans was rebuilt at Aamco. They had no problem working on the car.

Try calling one, ask them if you supply the clutch, how much would labor be.

U may get lucky!
