Radio wire harness info needed

I'm planning on prebuilding and interface harness before removing the radio, so I don't have to cut the factory connector off.

Does anyone have rescource link or pdf. file of the radio wiring? More specific I need the PINOUT of the 9-pin connector of what goes where. I thought there was one on the old.com once apon a time.

I hope you are installing an antique radio. All modern radios use ungrounded, non-common speakers. The original 9-pin connector has the speaker (-) leads tied together (they ground at the radio). A modern radio won't like that.

If you really want it all connectorized you could use the factory connector for the power and speaker (+) and break out two of the speaker (-) lines on a separate multipin connector, but that seems kind of pointless. To do this right you need at least 11 pins, 12 if you want to include the power antenna trigger, a couple more if you are controlling a remote amp etc.

That's what I did, just separated the ground to connect the radio (modern) works perfectly.

Thanks for the references, all good info and food for thought. I see now front & rear grounds must be paired at the Carside Connector terminal. Here I thaught I could get a jump on the project. no big deal. I guess I'll have to split the two. I was trying to avoid tampering with the harness.

I got both male and female wiring harnesses for a late model Honda Civic from a pro audio shop in town. Spliced one end into the car in place of the factory harness and built a connector for the new radio from the other one. Common, modern, cheap as chips if I ever want to replace it again or build a new one. Was a piece of cake and worth it.

Are the Color DMC schematics in your photo the same as the version listed in the resources section here. I did not see the Steelwings LOGO on your prints. Seems like your prints show a better Graphic quality than what is seen on the computer screen.

You know, I haven't got a darn clue where I got this. Possibly off the old .com site? Either way, the credit in the image is "Stainless Wing", so we owe whoever that is for doing this!

Just like you I also wanted to install electrical radio on my old Honda Civic. I also need to modify my honda civic lug nuts (http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/honda-civic/wheel-lug-nuts/) and use more amp. I guess you need to get new alternator.
