View Full Version : Electrical Flickering A/C panel lights - replacement sockets?

Since installing my new DIN center console, my A/C panel lights have been flickering a bit. It's got everything to do with the HVAC panel pressing on the bulbs and causing them to make intermittent connections in the sockets (not a wiring or actual electrical issue, 100% verified that)

I am using all LEDs behind the panel. Does anyone have any suggestions for improving the contact of the bulbs to the factory sockets, or suggestions for replacements/stopping the flicker?

Pull them out and put them back in again.

Pull them out and put them back in again.

The bulbs or the sockets? I've done the bulbs a few times, the sockets are a bit more involved of a job of course :)

Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees on this one... I was making this way too complicated. Pulled the center console and wrapped a little electrical tape around each bulb socket so it didn't sit as far forward in the A/C panel. Problem solved and as an added bonus, without the pressure of the bulbs on the back, the A/C panel lines up better than ever.
