Acceleration issue to Light Speed

I remember when I purchased my D 4 years ago. When I would come to a stop, hit the gas, "Boom" the car would throw me back in the seat and takeoff like a bat out of hell. A few weeks ago I was taking my sister for her first ride in the D and the same thing happened. I can’t repeat the exact words that came out of her mouth. However she did say of her last 3 Beemer’s none were as fast as my D.

This acceleration issue seems to be happening more often than in the past. The other day I was at a stop light hit the gas and went into warp speed. Then as I looked out the rear view mirror. Yup there was a cop.

Any clues as to what is wrong?

I have mastered the art of buying Delorean parts.

My first thought is maybe a spark issue to one of your cylinders? I had a cut spark plug wire on my SS and it ran fine around town but crappy under load on 7 cylinders until the spark arc'd enough to bridge the gap and BOOM I got a big cloud of black exhaust and the car would launch hard. This is a 4000lb car with a 6-speed and 300+hp and 4.56 rear gears though!

Last year I had a major engine tune-up including a new coil, plug wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor, New Bosh injectors, ss fuel lines,vacuume hoses, K&N filter and new valve cover gaskets. The plug wires are premium grade.

The car is a 5 speed.

It is almost like the gas pedal is floored and it isn't. So I back off on the gas pedal and the acceleration slows. "Geez"
