View Full Version : Brake new owner nead tech help

i buy my D in september, i working on it ( when my wife let me do it :rolleyes1: ) i see lot of bad work done by the previous owner " trusted " shop.

i'm doing my brake and the driver side parking brake cable pass over the frame and i think it's ok .......but on the passenger side the cable pass between to frame ( under it ) and the big deflector... and the deflector do not sit properly.

anyone can tel me if its was made like this or were it's should go

Welcome to the Delorean World... I'll look at mine tonight..I dont remember really !

Me too, a lot of the bad stuff I discovered was fixed by the Previous owner's mecanic !

Hi,
For sure any cable should not go through in sandwitch between anything. The deflector has normally a kind of hole or crease with rubber at the lip_ and the cable (for what I remember) goes through this. My D had a similar problem.
The previous owner told me that he has the best mecanic in the world working on his car _ and yet he couldn't figured out how come the parking brake didn't work. Aside from this in my case, the parking brake release fork on the right side was broken too.

i see the hole in the deflector, but the cable wont go there ( to short )if you can check on your car marty it's will be nice,
