I am still working on the stereo install and need to remove the front pillars along the windshield to install tweeters and run cables behind them. Can anyone tell me how to remove them?

Start by removing the weatherstripping that holds them in at the outside edges. They may come loose, or they could be glued to the a pillars, or the vinyl that covers them may be sealed into the windshield sealant. If you can't do what you want just by peeling them back a little, you may want to think twice before cutting them out.

Capturing the vinyl in the windshield mounting is the preferred way to mount the a pillar covers as it prevents or minimizes warping of the a pillar trims. If you cut it out, or unglue it from the a pillar, you may be subject to warping.

Consider running the wires up and mounting your tweeters where the a Pillar trim meets the headliner. You may be able to do this without cutting anything.

They might be glued to the windshield. When I got my car the PO had removed them and ran video cables up them so I just had to remove and replace them, however my windshield had to be re-glued to the car. When that was done I had them replace and it looks like the glued them down.

If not, remove the seal, lightly pull up the folded vinyl that's over the door seal and pull from the top. If you have the dash out it is easier to do. You might have to heat up the glass area where the pillars hit the glass.

I did mine over a year ago so I can't remember everything plus my car is in storage.

Dave from DMCMW would have a much take on then than me.

Where exactly are the tweeters going? If your going all the way up to the headliner, disconnect the battery, then use the dome light wires and tie a string to them and pull them back down the passenger side pillar. Then attach your new wires and pull back up.

Other than that you may be out of luck, for a highly finished appearance the a-pillar trim is glued on all sides. Poking tweeters out halfway up will not work (well).

This could work, except if the upgoing wires were taped to the frame before attaching the A post trim (as was in my car).
If that's the fact, you may be breaking an old dome light wire or both (at least the insulation may crack).

I was successful in doing this with my car, no issues at all. So it can be done on at least some cars.

there are going to be 4 tweeters in the upper part of the windshield. as your sitting in the drivers seat there will be a left tweeter almost to the top of the pillar and a right on the left side of the rear view mirror, then a left on right side of the mirror and a right on the right pillar. That way each the driver and the passenger have a right and a left Hi Freq. Where the 3 in speakers are will be 2 in mid high speakers and 6 in mid freq speakers in the kick panels, in the back is a 12 in sub, and on the back wall is 2 6 in mid and 2 tweeters for the rear fill sound.
all the wires are run speakers are taped down along the passenger side of the car to and the signal wires are all run down the drivers side of the car. The only issue, well one of the issues, is getting the tweeter into the pillar and running 3 sets of speaker wires along the headliner and down the pillar.
