Custom car hauler for Delorean Time Machine

I had this 16' enclosed trailer custom made for my Delorean.
It is actually 18' with the V-Nose, weighs about 2500lbs, cost $6500.00

I actually tow this with my Dodge Magnum R/T HEMI.

The most unique feature is the split doors on the side that make it easy to open the door and hop in and out. Worked out perfect!!!

Hi Bob,

Nice trailer, but it seems a bit pricey for a custom setup that may not be the best
fit for your towing needs, based on tow vehicle and car placement in the trailer.

Maybe its just the angle of the photo, but I would think you would want the side
escape door(s) another foot or two forward, to help balance trailer weight better
with the car's rear axle (and rear engine weight) right over the rear trailer axle.
You may also want to add rear stabilizer jacks to the trailer for loading/unloading
while the trailer is attached to the Magnum (so it does not lift the Dodge too much).
With the low clearance in back, I recommend the drop-leg stabilizers on each side.

Having done a lot of vehicle towing with a Crown Victoria years ago, I recommend
a weight distributing hitch whenever the total loaded trailer weight exceeds 5K lbs.,
but it looks like the trailer tongue may not have enough room for the mounts, with
the current V-nose enclosure extending that far over the trailer tongue.

If you do not have room for the weight distribution hitch setup, I would recommend
you get at least one anti-sway stabilizer bar to help prevent trailer sway when you
are going down the road with any significant cross-winds. Enclosed trailers handle
much different than open trailers and even though the bars can be rather noisey in
tight turns, they are definately worth their weight (and their cost) on a windy road.
I would recommend loosening them up or removing the bars for trailer parking, etc.

BTW: If you do a lot of towing in the future, nothing does it better than a dually truck.
