I don't know if any of the other vendors have different ones, but this one I see on a lot of cars online.

They are nice, but fitment is hit or miss. Some have the threaded studs welded too low. I got one completely unfinished(at my request) so I could clean up the welds and grain it myself. I also had to cut the clear cover and attach it. I decided to paint it from the back just to keep it tame. You also have a breather hose to deal with. I attached a small filter and made a bracket for it rather than cut the hose. This way I can put the whole compartment back to stock appearance at any time.

That looks phenomenal. Really, really nice. It looks like it could be stock, too.

Thank you. I am playing around with the idea of placing a short run of LED strip and using a clear insert(interchangeable of course). The only thing holding me back is I don't want to get too ricey with her. Sometimes a guy just needs to know when to stop.

Agreed, sometimes it's hard to know when too stop. I actually have had a neon kit sitting in my garage from the early '90s that hasn't found a home on any of my rides, but I was just thinking that if ever a car would look cool with a blue glow coming out from underneath it, it would be the D. But I think it might be just too ricey as well. :)

Yeah, I think it looks perfect the way it is. LEDs will definitely look ricey. But, that's my opinion and its your car!

yours looks great , with a slightly larger intake did you notice any improvements fuel or performance wise ?? It looks thicker before it enters the flap .

I've always had a hard time believing that the airbox you use influences your HP rating. I get that a less restrictive filter lets more air in but on a naturally aspirated engine, there is no way that a taller box makes a difference. The same amount of air is going to go through the SS box as the plastic box and if anything, the plastic box will probably seal better. If I'm supposed to see an increase with the SS box, then I should notice an even bigger difference when my airbox is completely removed because there is no restriction at all. Definitely not the case.

yeah tend to agree with you on that nicholas , on my turbo car it does change things but tendeds to suck the air cleaner into the turbo when it was poorly matched to the system . i wondered if the stock thin intake was a choke from factory thus maybe just maybe allowed it to breath a little better :-) if you get the extractor exhaust system straight though mufflers you allow things out quicker more free flowing so you would think your need alittle more in ..kinda working hand in hand .

I noticed no difference, it's just for show regardless of any claims made by the seller.

I did notice a difference with the K+N filter, but I was anticipating one too, so I may have just imagined it.
