broken window motor.

Hey guys, so this morning I went to roll down my RH window and about a 1/4 of the way down it stopped. So I push the switch up and down to see if it would free itself and it popped a fues witch also made my stereo turn off??? Any ideas.

If they're the originals it's probably toast. The originals use plastic joints and break.

Replace the fuse, swap switches with the other window switch to confirm the switch is still good.

If so, remove the door panels to access the regulator. Unplug motor, apply a voltmeter to the plug and test for voltage. If it's good the regulator is toast. Well, more specifically, the drive mechanism is toast and the motor is probably fine, but you must replace the whole unit.

Replacements come in pairs from A1 electric, but IIRC there is one for sale here at the moment.

Thanks guys. No power amp. I thought maybe the fues blew from me pushing the switch. So I went to put a new fues in to see if my radio would even turn on and the fues popped right away before I could even push it all the way down.

I use to own vin 1767 but ex made me sell it. Just got vin 4552 Jan 10th. I looked through some paper work and the LH motor has been replaced. Looks like I get to do the RH.

You have dead short without touching the switch?

If you leave the radio off, does the fuse still blow?

Found it thanks everyone. Its a bad motor and me playing with the switch popped the fues. Took The good switch from the other side and fues doesn't blow. Soooooo now I need a new switch, motor, and may as well do the window (has scratches) yay!!!!:sad30:
