Just read this article http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/02/copyright-to-the-batmobile/ about Gotham Garage's Batmobile kits being sued by DC Comics for copyright infringement. Just out of curiosity, do any of the BTTF fitting outfits pay royalties?

If I were to ever get into the repli-car business, I would aim for something that is not only screen accurate but would be the envy of all other travelers: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/70/FamilyTruckster.jpg/800px-FamilyTruckster.jpg

I was curious about this myself. I think the laws don't really matter unless they're enforced. Looks to me like the only Honey Badger that gives a shit are the Batmobile characters, they rest just fall under the category buy default, because it would be funny if there was a specific piece of legislation just for Batmobiles!

At first I thought DC was going after the batman logo on the side. That's about all I think they could get the copyright. And that depends on who actually owns the design for that logo. George Barris is credited with the batmobile, you'd think he would be part of that lawsuit.
