Remove DOOR?

How hard is it to remove a door? Specifically the passenger door? or should I not even go there?

Trying to use the car for a shoot & we're turning it into something other worldly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Haven't done it but it is probably straightforward to take off, after you release the tension on the torsion bar.

Putting it back on again and aligning it will be a whole other story.

Much more complicated than you'd expect, with a lot of places to go very wrong. The wiring is attached in the center of the roof (so you need to remove the roof) and you must remove the torsion bar.

Before removing the door I would drill tiny (1/16") holes in the hinges so I could realign the door with a punch to put it back on EXACTLY as it was attached. As mentioned you do have to remove the torsion bar and disconnect the wiring and of course the strut. The door is HEAVY so be prepared with a lot of help or a high table or support of some kind. You might want to remove the interior trim so it doesn't get damaged.

The only legitimate reason to remove a Delorean door is to replace a rusted roof cage. Any other reason is just silly unless of course the door is bad and needs to be replaced.
