OK, so that title may need some explaining. My kids are big into fencing (the sport, not the construction task) and they are in dire need of a witty motto for their club shirts. They are being ‘pwnd’ by neighboring clubs with such classics as
“It’s not for the Feint of heart”
And my favorite
“It’s just a Flesche wound”
So I know you bunch are a pretty inventive and witty group, so I was thinking of opening it up for ideas.
The best ideas will be presented to the club and may well be seen on the club T-shirt.
Some fencing terms, for the uninitiated:
Riposte, feint, parry, flesche, lunge, unicorn, epee, plastron, balestra, en garde, attack, guard, piste, strip, bout, blade, mask, point, tip as well as any reference to swordplay in movies, pop culture etc.
Worth pointing out that this is high-school fencing, so no inappropriate wording will make it onto the T, but of course can raise a giggle here. (Such as one bumper sticker suggestion of “My Kid can Stab your Honor Student” which was frowned upon)
