Yeah!! Here's a very short clip of 3589's first start after sitting since 1994. Short History: Car purchased by wife's aunt in 1985 with 12,700 miles on it. Their son drove it to high school prom, a little around town stuff, then parked in 1985 with 12,888 miles on it. Car moved from one storage location to another in 1994, Couldn't get it running well enough to drive (um, 9 year old gas?), towed to garage, where it was covered up again and left.

After aunt dies in 2010, I acquire car last summer, and take to Cincinnati.

After several "thursday night tech sessions", we finally get a chance to "give her a shot". After this video ends, we jumpered the cold start, and it ran fine (idled). The injectors are shot, so I'll replace those next thursday. It was so cool to hear it fire up!

Doesn't he though? He spends more time on my car than his! (and I'm ever so grateful)!!

next time I'll remember to empty my camera to get more space so I can get a better recording!

Very cool video. Assuming everything comes together, will you be at the Cincinnait St Patricks Day parade? Would be a good opportunity for myself and others to look over your car.

Yep, if all comes together well enough. Still need to replace injectors, new stainless lines, and completly rebuild brakes...lotta work but i'm keeping my fingers crossed I can get it done before the parade!

OK, tonight I replaced the Injectors, seals, clips, and lines, and we had MUCH BETTER results (Yea!)

I still have to replace the fuel filter, and run it a lot more, to purge whatever remaining 25 year old junk is in the lines, but I really like how she sounds no?

Gotta rebuild the brakes, get it on the road and down to the Cincinnati St. Patricks' day parade. I promised Josh I would :hihi:

Maybe double check with a tech pro, but it might be smart to clean/purge ALL old fuel and debris from the system before it clogs up your swanky new injectors. IIRC, once our injectors foul, they cannot be cleaned internally due to their inherent design.

Damn that guy in the blue jacket is handsome! Haha. It was a good night indeed. This thursday it's going to run and stay running. Get your brake calipers rebuilt so that we can take it for a test drive!

He really knows his stuff too! :histerical1:

Got the Front calipers apart today, minor pitting on one of the pistons, rest look fine. Stopped by Ken's today, sandblasted everything, and will be painting over the weekend. hmmm...color suggestions?

assemble Mon or Tue, then back on Thursday! Come on baby!

:clown: OK, here is the latest run, the third attempt. After help from Larry replacing the fuel filter, the gang all got back together and we ran it one more time.

The guy that had the blue jacket on last time now has a green shirt on, and we have a new member joining the crew..he helped get the Raffle car running up and down the parking lot last night.

There's that one guy there too wearing the Disney World shirt. He has something to do with the DCS Carshow...I think it's in Orlando? :-)

Let's inventory:
25 year idle Delorean,
Replace pretty much the entire fuel system, from pump to injectors (ok, didn't replace the lines under the car).
Adjust mixture, start car.

Listen to this!
