Drain your tank as low as possible before taking off panel. :nervous:
My friend Ian and I must have looked quite the sight as we scrambled to get a jack under the gas tank that proceeded to fall from its comfy position in the frame cradle. Luckily it was handy and held it up long enough to pump out the tank. Numerous posts on this site as well as my own personal experience of a couple of months ago all indicated that nope, not necessary to drain.....maybe be it is a car by car situation.
While he tackled his radiator hose replacements under the car, I stripped his K-Jet stuff off, removed the rear wiring harness and removed the entire manifold with fuel distributor and throttles all attached. Valley was in nice shape and shouldn't need much cleaning at all. After he replaces the cooling hoses we'll be re installing everything minus K-Jet. Ian is #2 for the stock Megasquirt conversion. Shannon, #1, should be mechanically complete tomorrow and ready for test fire. Given that AdmiralSenn and Darcom (IIRC) are both running with injectors in the stock holes, I have no doubts that my MS tune will have us up and idling in no time. The fuel rails, brackets and idle air block have all been blueprinted and are now reproduceable. If you want to learn more, go to the EFI threads in the Custom Delorean Discussions.
