I was told that their is a tutorial on here as to how to rebuild a locking gas cap. I tried searching on here and couldn't find it. Does anyone have this information so I can rebuild mine?

Hey Josh - coulda just asked :)
Unfortunately my bookmark to the how-to was from the old .com site so I think that it might be gone. But it's pretty easy - if you look at the bottom you'll see a spring pin holding the whole thing together. Knock that out with a center punch, remove the guts, clean and lubricate them - spray a good amount of penetrating oil and/or graphite lock cylinder lubricant inside the tumbler, and reassemble.
Of course it goes without saying you need to watch carefully what order the parts come out in, and that you don't lose the pins inside the lock mechanism. They need to go back in the exact same place for the key to work properly.
Wish I'd taken more photos of my job for you. Maybe next time the car's in Sac I'll come by and work on this for ya, it didn't take long.
Anyone still have an archive of the original post?
EDIT: Success! Thanks again, Wayback machine.

The pictures are even intact.
And, I've re-entered the how-to in it's entirety in the new how-to section.

Enjoy and good luck.

We can re-key these here at DMC Texas, as well, from either your keycode, a copy of your ignition key or a good, close-up photo. From time to time we have used locking gas caps available, too.
