Was going thru my spare parts the other day and ran across these two tool kits. The tool kit in my Delorean is the standard kit. But these have a spark plug puller included. Anyone know where these came from?

You imply that your standard jack/tool kit has no plug wrench. That makes it different from the kit that came with my car from the dealer, shown below. My original kit has the same gear as the two kits in your photo.

Mine too, though it is painted in a darker grey Hammerite type finish

I guess I had assumed my tool/jack kit was standard. The kit in my car looks new, but is only the jack. This is the first I've seen a kit with the plug wrench.

The tool kit with the racheting handle is an "early" tool kit. Later kits had a folding handle rod. I have not seen a tool kit with a spark plug wrench. Maybe James E can comment on it. Good luck trying to use it! Just for info, the "tool kit" you are referring to is for jacking and removing wheels. There is another tool kit in a much smaller rolled pouch with a few worthless hand tools. It does not include a spark plug wrench.

My kit also has the spark plug puller. It's actually pretty useful if you dont have a wobble socket handy and need to pull plugs.

It's what I used to change my plugs actually. It has a rubber grommet near the top to hold the plug in place while you fish it into the well. 

My car came with the spark plug puller as well - and I too - have used it to pull plugs when in a jam. It is surprisingly good at what it does for being so old.

As a side note: we should have known we were diving head first in the wrong side of the pool when we got a car that CAME with tools (same for Ferraris) =P.
