This lists all of the patents with "Delorean" as assignee. There are some gems here, such as the car itself, and the doors as well.
There's also some information on the molding/casting process used to make the body on the assembly line.

i remember reading somewhere back in high school that he was responsible for the air bag because he tried to incorporate them into the DMC12 but due to him inventing them under GM , he couldnt because GM held the patent or something.

This search was for Delorean as assignee, not inventor. Try searching for his name as inventor, and you'll find lots of other stuff, not related to DMC or the DMC-12.

Probably nothing since he never claimed to have invented anything:

As for airbags, they were not specific to JZD. They had been around for years and he used them in some prototypes as part of the safety vehicle designs. I'm not sure why they didn't make it into production, but considering what the early airbag systems were like back then, it's probably a good thing.
I remember back on the 80's, the first head on crash involving two vehicles equipped with airbags where both Chryslers, both drivers walked away!
Now back to the patents, I bought the original Delorean wheel patent documents (Prototype Wheel), in case someone is collecting this kind of documents, I could scan them and e-mail them if anyone interested.
