Hello, can anyone tell me the correct steps on how to disconnect the battery? A friend of mine at work is going to run some tests on it at work and I don't want to make a mistake. I assume the black cable needs to be disconnected first?
All the best,
Felix

It's really not that big a deal. The fact is, you can remove either 1st. But I would probably remove the NEGATIVE (black) cable 1st. It's been written that NEG off 1st is the propper way. Again, it shouldn't make that much difference.
Doesn't matter, disconnect either one.

What tool do I need? Is it a flat head screwdriver?

Depends on the bolt present. I've seen many now replaced with aftermarket battery bolts that require a socket/wrench, which could also be used on the OEM bolt.

I got it out. It needed a 14mm socket.
Thanks,
Felix
